He 's cracked ,if you ask me .



Candidate

Context:the man named Cox who at the time when I write is a candidate for the presidency.



Definition:a person who is being considered for a posotion ,for example one of the people who stand in a example one of the people who stand in an election or one of the people who apply for a job .





Intimacy

Context: the Chicago newspapers were filled with the story of a millionaire who had got into trouble with his wife because of an intimacy with an actress.



Definition:a very close personal relationship between two people .



Never before had he known such intimacy with another person .

Context:The man, who is now on trial in the courts



Definition:be accused of committing a crime and are going through the committing a crime and are going through the legal process in which a judge and jury will decide whether they are guilty or not .

Context:To the foreman, a heavy stolid looking man with grey eyes, she seemed the most beautiful woman in the world

He was a rather stolid ,serious type .





In someone's presence

Context:In fancy the foreman took the girl from Iowa home with him to his apartment in Thirty-second Street and into the presence of his wife and his mother-in-law.



Definition:in the same place as someone are ,and can be seen or heard by them.

I had felt comfortable in her presence .



Attend to

Context:The mother-in-law attended to that



Definition:deal with a problem.

I had two item of business to attend to before I could relax.


This is a story about a lonely man .He said to others that the people appeared in the newspaper were his relative.One of them was a murder who killed his wife for being in love with a girl .

Loneliness is really terrible.Mainly of the people who have mental disease were because of loneliness.So if you met this old man ,be patient to litsento his story ,and don't let him feel lonely.

The old man seems ridiculous ,but in fact it is just because that he is too lonely ,I believe .
